Union minister satisfied over Dal conservation
Srinagar, Apr 4: Dr Saugata Roy, Minister for State Ministry of Urban Development Government of India conducted an extensive tour of Dal and expressed satisfaction over the conservation works in the lake.
In a statement, the Public Relations and Awareness Officer LAWDA, Malik Tariq said Dr Roy was briefed about the progress achieved on the conservation measures like Sewerage Treatment, laying of trunk, lateral, secondary sewer network, working of existing STPs.
“It was a great experience taking a boat ride in Dal. The lake looks very clean and its waters are transparent. LAWDA is doing a great job in keeping the lake clean and beautiful,” Dr Roy said.
Meanwhile, Ravinder Tyegi Chairman Urban Development Corporation Government of Rajasthan has also expressed satisfaction over the Dal conservation. Malik Tariq said the team had made on-the-spot assessment of Dal conservation in December last year for making a conservation project for Kishore Sagar lake in Kota.
