BCC WINS BY MOST SIXES RULE
V-C’S T20 CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Srinagar, Apr 6: In one of the rare moments of T20 cricket, BCC Batamalloo won its clash against Mars Cricket Club Soura by most sixes rule in the ongoing Vice-Chancellor’s T20 cricket tournament at Kashmir University ground here on Friday.
In allotted overs outcome of match was tie as both teams scored 143 runs. After that in super over again the outcome was tie as both scored 10 runs. The only way to separate two teams and decide winner was most sixes rule (whoever have hit most sixes will be winner). After going through scorecard the match officials declared BCC Batamalloo winner as they had hit more sixes than Mars Soura.
Earlier Batting first Mars Soura scored 143 runs in allotted overs for the loss of seven wickets. Farooq with 23 was highest scorer for them while Reyaz took three wickets for BCC.
In reply BCC Batamalloo managed to score exact 143 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted overs. Zahid with 61 runs was highest scorer for them.
In the second match, UCC defeated FCC Ishber by five wickets. Batting first FCC Ishber scored 123 runs for the loss of five wickets in allotted overs. Shahnawaz with 28 runs was highest scorer for them while Amir and Huvaid took two wickets each for CC.
In reply UCC achieved the required target in 16.4 overs for the loss of five wickets. Lateef with unbeaten 60 was highest scorer for them and was adjudged man of the match.
On Saturday, ACC Hazratbal will lock horns with Jehangir Bandipora in first match while New Theed will be against Srinagar Youth Cricket Club in second match.
The event is being organised by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports department Kashmir University.
