IT’S NAWAB BAZAR

NOT NAWA BAZAR

I highly appreciate Greater Kashmir’s concern in highlighting the problems of historical Srinagar City known as Shaher-e-Khaas. However, I am pained to point out that the names of certain areas appear in a distorted form. For instance, in last one or two days, Nawab- Bazar is being referred as Nawa Bazar, which is factually and historically incorrect.
 In fact this area which is Shah-Mohalla Nawab-Bazar is the gate way to historical Srinagar City. This part of the City, which has been a trend setter in many fields, has witnessed historical upheavals and renowned personalities of the sub-continent have visited the area at one or the other point of the time.
 The young generation of journalists should verify these names and record them correctly.
