Srinagar, July 31: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the alleged killing of Aqib Yousuf by CRPF personnel at Balapora in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
Describing the incident as a ‘horrendous example of State terrorism’, Mirwaiz said an innocent Kashmiri who was supplying them water was brutally murdered by the State forces for no fault of his. He said, “This incident has vindicated the stand of Hurriyat that until the extraordinary powers remain vested with the State forces, such incidents would continue to occur in the future.”
Meanwhile, as part of Hurriyat’s people contact programme, a delegation of its leaders led by Hakim Abdul Rashid visited Beerwah, Budgam, apprising people about the amalgam’s political and diplomatic efforts to solve the Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of Hurriyat in a statement today strongly condemned the detention of clerics at Dastgeer Sahab (RA) shrine. The spokesman said it was a direct intervention in the religious affairs of people.
