Governor, CM Greet People On Janmashtami

Srinagar, Aug 9: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has paid homage to Hazrat Ali (AS) on his martyrdom on 21st day of Ramadan, the month of fasting in the Islamic calendar.
In his message on the holy day, the Chief Minister said that Hazrat Ali (AS) is true personification of knowledge, justice, honesty and bravery embedded with mercy and high values of humanism.
In a separate message, Chief Minister extended greetings to the people on Janamashtami, wishing them well being and prosperity. Omar highlighted the characteristic of Jammu and Kashmir in celebrating festivals and holy occasions in communal amity, brotherhood and togetherness. He said sharing happiness with others adds color to the celebration.
Greeting the people on Janamashtami, Governor NN Vohra has prayed that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of sustained peace, progress and prosperity and further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, amity and harmony in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the divine message of Lord Krishna, enshrined in the Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, exhorts mankind to strive for the ultimate truth and for every individual to carry out his duties to the best of his ability without worrying about the outcome of his endeavors.
