Army hosts horse polo, race

Srinagar, Aug 10: The horse polo tournament and staple chase organised by Army concluded at Sonamarg with the distribution of prizes among the winning teams.
The Forest Minister Mian Altaf was chef guest on the occasion and he distributed cash prizes among the winners in presence of various officials of army and police. In the final Sarbal defeated Shudkadi Polo team by 4-3.
“The wining and the runners up teams were given cash prize while others were given consolation prizes,” a handout said.
Scores of people watched the matches and the prize distribution ceremony whereas a later Iftaar party comprising of Wazwan was hosted by Army while apart from other guests members of Beopar Mandal also attended the event.
The schoolchildren who presented cultural show were given gifts. The guest hailed the event organized by Major Reema OC Alpha Sector.
