Identity Card - a movie on JK turmoil to hit silver screeen soon
Surankote youth reaches Bollywood
Jammu, Aug 10: Tariq Khan, a native of the Bafliaz of Surankote in Poonch district, had never even thought in wildest of his imagination of making career in acting besides producing films. But destiny had beautiest of plan for him.
Khan's hard work, dedication and passion for acting in films paid rich dividends. He's been able to create niche for himself in tinsel town of Bollywood. After spending considerable time in Mumbai film industry and acquiring adequate experience, Khan is now making film "Identity Card" (Show your Identity Card even if you are naked) based on the happenings of last 22 years in troublesome Jammu and Kashmir.
In 1996, at the age of just 18 years, Tariq made his presence felt in the arena of acting and film making. With a small video camera and other limited resources at his disposal, he made "Zehreele Nag" to expose the social ills and problem of drug abuse among the youth.
The film was exclusively screened for the people of Rajouri and Poonch. The film based on important social theme was very well taken by the native viewers. The film was made by him at a time when militancy was on its peak in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
Continuing his struggle, Tariq started working for Doordarshan in 1998-99. Thereafter, he moved to Mumbai in 2000 wherein he shooted 25-30 video albums in the very first year. He worked with ETV Urdu as well. He was involved in the direction of the programmes. In 2006, he got an opportunity to direct a TV serial in New Delhi.
Tariq attributes his success to the support of family members. He says, "Finance has a major part to play in the life of a film-maker." Tariq's father played an important role in shaping his destiny.
Tariq has now joined hands with his old timer Rahat Qazmi and together they decided to make film on the turmoil of Jammu and Kashmir which it has suffered during the past two decades.
To make film an impressive one, experienced and popular starcast have been chosen including Tia Bajpayee (TV actress), Raghuvir Yadav (Theatre and Film Celebrity), Saurabh Shukla (Satya fame, Kallu Mama) , Barjinder Kala (Jab we met) , Vipin Sharma( Amir Khan’s Tare Zamain Par) Furqan, Shoaib Qazmi, Romin Sheikh and Prashant. The film is expected to complete by the end of this year. Thereafter, Tariq Khan will make another movie and that will be exclusively based on Jammu.
