Measures on to reduce bird activities around airports
DR SAMOON DISCUSSES FLIGHT SAFETY
Srinagar, Aug 10: In the wake of apprehensions of bird-hit, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon held a meeting resolving to gear up safety measures in and around Srinagar International Airport and other airfields in Kashmir.
An official handout said the Divisional Commissioner “ordered for scientific disposal of garbage around airports, as well as taking standard precautionary measures in order to reduce the bird activities for the safety of the flights.”
The meeting was attended by Air Officer Commanding Srinagar, Air Commodore, D Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Shafat Noor, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr GN Qasba, Additional District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Budgam, Muhammad Akbar Ganai, Officiating Airport Director SK Chindalia, Health Officer Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr Rubeena Shaheen, Dy SP AHJ Srinagar Airport and other senior officers.
