SMC conducts sanitation drive at Bakshi Stadium

I DAY PREPARATIONS

Srinagar, Aug 10: Ahead of I Day celebrations in the City, Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Friday conducted a special sanitation drive in and around Bakshi Stadium, the main venue for August 15 function, while the SMC Commissioner, Dr GN Qasba  personally monitored the cleanliness drive.
 An official handout said the drive was held under the supervision of Chief Sanitation Officer Manzoor Ahmed Turray and concerned Ward Officer Sofi Muhammad Akbar.
 “Around 200 Saffai Walas from Ward 2 Lal Chowk and Ward 30 Jawahar Nagar were deputed in 9 different teams to carry out sanitation,” a SMC handout said.
 “The sanitation was conducted from IG Road up to Rambagh, Haftchinar to Iqbal Park Crossing, Tulsi Bagh, Zero Bridge to Lal Mandi, and inside and around Bakhshi Stadium,” it added.
 “Suckers, Mini sweeping machines and Tankers were deployed for cleansing services,” the handout said.
