US team in Valley
Srinagar, Aug 10: A four-member US team has arrived in the Valley to get an update about the latest Kashmir situation.
Led by a member of the foreign affairs committee of the US embassy in New Delhi, the team also comprising two Congressmen on Thursday met leaders of mainstream political parties including President main opposition party PDP, Mehbooba Mufti, and CPI-M General Secretary, MY Tarigami.
“We exchanged views on general issues including emerging situation in the Valley,” said Tarigami while sharing details about his meeting with the US team.
He said the visit of the US team was routine one aiming to keep US government abreast about situation in the Valley.
The team however has not contacted any separatist leader yet. Sources said the team is staying in a posh hotel here.
