Seminar on folk tales of J&K, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh begins
‘Valley to host int’l Kashmiri Conf on Oct 13’
Srinagar, Aug 11: A two day seminar on ‘Folk Tales’ of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh was inaugurated at J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here on Saturday.
The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. Aziz Hajini, Convener Kashmiri Advisory Board at Sahitya Akademi New Delhi while as inaugural address was presented by Khalid Bashir, Secretary J&K Cultural Academy. Convener Punjabi Dr Deepak Manmohan Singh and J. Ponnudary, Deputy Secretary Sahitya Akademi were also present.
Dr Aziz Hajini said that on October 13th and 14th, 2012, first ever International Kashmiri Conference is being organized by Sahitya Akademi at Srinagar. Others who were present on the occasion include Farooq Nazki, Prof Muhammad Zaman Azurdah, Ruksana Jabeen, Hamdam Kashmiri, Prof. Bashar Bashir, Ayaz Rasool Nazki, Prof. M. H. Zafar and many other scholars representing various parts of the country.
Ten papers on the subject ‘Folk Tales’ are being presented in this seminar.
