Bear injures 2 in Beerwah
Beerwah (Budgam), Aug 12: A bear attacked two boys at Kundura village in this central Kashmir district on Sunday.
Witnesses said the bear appeared in the village this afternoon and attacked Muhammad Rafiq Najar, 18, son of Abdul Rahim Najar and Amir Satar Chopan, son of Abdul Satar Chopan, 12. The boys were rushed to SDH Beerwah from where they were referred SK Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Pertinently, earlier this week a bear had attacked Ghulam Qadir Hajam, in the same village. The victim had sustained grievous injuries.
The beast appearing in the area twice has created panic. “We are feeling insecure. Authorities should deploy personnel of the Wildlife protection force in the area,” locals said.
