Soz visits Mir Behri
Srinagar, Aug 12: A day after a footbridge collapse at Meer Behri in Dal lake that left around 70 people wounded, Member Parliament and JK Pradesh Congress, President, Prof Saif Ud Din Soz Sunday visited the area to take stock of situation, a handout said.
“I visited Motiyar and other areas in Rainawari, Srinagar today and got to know the acute problems faced by people in Meer Behri and other areas of Dal Lake for want of proper road connectivity,” Soz said in a statement.
He said a “large number of people gathered and explained to me the difficulties in respect of road connectivity and shortage of drinking water in the entire area there.”
Soz assured the people that their problems would be solved urgently.
“But, at the same time people should show restrain and not indulge in stone pelting which had created difficulties for police to render help to the families effected by the unfortunate incident yesterday in which a bridge had collapsed causing injuries to many
people,” Soz said adding “I advice the people to explain their difficulties in a democratic way, so that early redressal is possible.”
