Take the heat off K

We have talked a lot,but to what end?

WRITE BYTE BY S.SHABIR QAZALBAASH

Whether the heating up debate; triggered by Mir’s recent statement that K- problem can be resolved by empowering people and giving them economic independence, is seen as an attempt to “depoliticize” the K- issue or mislead the people or orchestrating 1953; (just like the recent write ups ‘for & against high pitched religious rites’), Valley people, irrespective of their understanding power, seem to be back to ‘ khabr-e- Zainakadal  obsession.
BPL or above, historians or Afsaanvi tareekh saaz of the Bermuda Triangle genre, talk talk & talk we do a lot; forgetting to what avail thousands were lost? Is two and a half decade a mere figure just like the rumored interpretation of 370 .., ‘lag bug doon ts-or hath’ attributed to waaiz?  Did army call shots before 1986, when sarhad kay oes paar say ik Baba-e- liberation (- embittered by Gilgit-devouring- rulers or may be inspired by Priya Darshani’s Mukti Bhani),  had sneaked into valley; not with goedd ki dali of  poet Gulzar but a Dance Of Death Plan that culminated with the Youtube clip of ‘She-male-ish’ koshur Laan-ts-e naggeme…” bachain maangain 47…  ? From 1975 to 1985 but prior to the much-trumpeted- bungled-election, didn’t fearless, unarmed, common Kashmiris bash erring army drivers on the roads of Srinagar- even in cinema? (-though by now we have got used to addressing ‘these semiliterate- fit for nothing else ones’, as Major sab).
Why we conveniently forget nothing fruitful came out of the marathon speeches of stalwarts like Krishnamurthi & Zaffer ullah yet we still revel in cacophony beneath the sulphurous PAN- mirage of the Kurdish shoemri hurriyet of the blind Egyptian that not only tarnished the image of Islam (Peace) on this Americanized planet but paved the road that is littered with the corpses of Nimaazis (butchered, on whole sale basis, inside houses of worship, from Kofa to Sindh, Mamdoat & Rajouri-Poonch of 1947 to Amritsar, Gujrat & Delhi of yesterdays.
Sad it is to see all around, men of religions, cutting each others throat; though supposed to be EVOVLED. Shame! Men professing to be religious, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews.. ALL have attached nice labels on exterior but inside them, not one, but many ferocious animals live. About politicians of today; less said, is better. Gone is the era of selfless leaders. Expecting even 20% of Gandhi (of 95 % M.K.G) in them is too much.
From Spain of yester years to Gaza like; conflict Zones of today the world has changed and Uncle SAM gleefully watches the mile stones- splattered with blood of mustered belly-slave-soldiers as well as innocent non- combatants.
Some voices decry economic independence, forgetting complacently that if it can hold good for every individual so can it be for people on the whole, for the state (collective form of social human beings living in a given geographic area; sharing many commonalities of present, future as well as past. Economic aspect can never be neglected; more so in a time like ours, where it’s competitive importance is comparatively million times more than the time of Glorious Prophet. Who now a days adopts the simple life style of Holy prophet; now a days whose forehead rests on dust laden mosque floor like Hd. Ali ( s.v)? Besides, all slogans are emotive. True the lot of masses doesn’t exhibit much change or improvement but taqdeer badal jati hai 5-6 saal main siyasat danoo ki.
Yes! Things would have been different had our state not been a bone of contention. Handicrafts (-paying job for under employed during lean periods…though depleting on brand front…but don’t include Industries please…), Horticulture, Tourism, Mineral, Water and Human Resource (all God-gifted) are the main areas of our strength but all later mentioned ones need high fiscal investment that gets slowed down due to uncertain political scenario but solution does not lie in marrying a poorer person/ country but a better one, if willing. Above all the logic doesn’t dictate:
Dil be zid kerta hai kissi bachay ki tarah
Ya to sab kuch issay chahiay, ya koech be nahi
Allah Nigehbaan, till we meet again.
