No fee to be charged from BPL female candidates

Jammu, Aug 13: In an important decision, Jammu and Kashmir government has exempted the female candidates belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) category from payment of requisite fee in any competitive examination across the state.
 “Sanction is hereby accorded to the exemption of Below Poverty Line female candidates from payment of application fee for appearing in competitive tests, payable to J&K Public Service Commission, Services Selection Board / Recruiting Agencies”, an order issued by General Administrative Department reads.
 It added that to seek the exemption, the applicant shall have to produce the Below Poverty Line Ration Certificate issued by the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department.
 The government has further agreed to compensate the losses, caused to the Revolving Funds of the Recruiting Agencies on account of the exemption.
 Jammu and Kashmir has around 66000 BPL families.
