Restore ILS at Srinagar Airport: Soz
Srinagar, Aug 13: Member Parliament and President Congress Committee Chief Prof. Saifuddin has asked the Defence Minister AK Antony to intervene and ask the Air Force authorities at Srinagar Airport to restore the Instrumental Landing System as per the requirements of the Airport Authority of India Soz, according to an official communiqué, wrote a “strongly worded” letter to Antony, complaining that “the Airport Authority at Srinagar had got ILS temporarily shifted but now it has not been placed at the proper place for months. With the result it has not been possible for several airlines to land flights at Srinagar on several occasions due to visibility problems.”
“In the letter Prof. Soz has explained that during past fortnight dozens of flights were cancelled at Srinagar Airport due to visibility problems and passengers were put to great hardships,” the communiqué read.
