5 police officers get President Medal, 33 Police Medal

Jammu, Aug 14: At least five police officers have been conferred with President Medal for gallantry and distinguish services on the eve of Independence Day.
 Those who have been awarded president’s police medal for gallantry include Late Gulab Singh, Head Constable  (Posthumously), Altaf Ahmad Khan Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Shafi Head Constable and Ather Parvaiz, Selection Grade Constable.
 RP Resutra, Deputy Inspector General of Police, PHQ, is the only police officer having been conferred with President's Police Medal For Distinguished Service from Jammu and Kashmir.
 Similarly the officers awarded Police Medal for Gallantry included Amarjit Singh Dy. Superintendent of police, Javeed Ahmad Yatoo Inspector, Harbans Lal Sg Constable, Mushtaq Ahmad Constable, Shamsheer Hussain Addl Superintendent of Police, Amit Kumar Superintendent Of Police, Sanjeet Singh Head Constable, Mohammad Rafi Constable, Qasim Din Head Constable, PN Tikoo Dy Superintendent of Police, Mumtaz Ahmed Superintendent Of Police, Abdul Jabbar Bhat Sg, Constable, Nissar Ahmed Constable, Amarjit Singh Dy Superintendent Of Police, Rashid Akber Inspector.
 Those who have been awarded police medal for Meritorious services included Manish Kishore Sinha, Deputy Inspector General Of Police , Mohammad Yousuf Shah, Superintendent Of Police , Security Hq J&K, Srinagar, Sunil Dutt, Senior  Superintendent of Police , J&K CID Cell, New Delhi, Jamil Anjam Mir, Deputy Superintendent Of Police , Sports, Srinagar, Hira Lal Pandit, Deputy Superintendent Of Police, Crime Jammu, Pawan Kumar, Deputy Superintendent Of Police, SKPA Udhampur,  Firdous Ahmad Khan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, SSG, Srinagar, Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar Raina, Inspector, Abdul Rashid Bhat, Sub-Inspector, Chaman Lal Dhar, Asstt Sub Inspector, Mohammad Maqbool Rather, Asstt Sub-Inspector , Subash Chander, Asstt Sub Inspector, Sat Paul, Head Constable, Balwan Singh, Head Constable,  , Bashir Ahmad, Head Constable, Ghulam Nabi, Head Constable, Ram Chand and Head Constable.
 In addition to this eight police personnel have been awarded with Sher-e-Kashmir police medal for Gallantry and four others as Sher-e-Kashmir police medal for meritorious services.


SHER-I-KASHMIR MEDALS FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE
 The State Government will confer Sher-i-Kashmir Medals for meritorious  services to four police officers/ officials in recognition their unblemished, extra-ordinary and meritorious service in police on the occasion of Independence Day.
 These are DIGP Udhampur-Reasi Range, Jagjit Singh, SSP, Vigilance Ali Muhammad Bhat, SP, CID Headquarter Bashir Ahmad Tameel and ASI, NO. ARP-801813/ AP 4th Battalion, Abdul Rashid.
 Moreover, the state government will also confer Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry to eight police personnel for exemplary acts of bravery and courage beyond the call of normal duty while dealing with the grave law and order situation prevailing in the state.
