APHC seeks UN’s role to settle K-issue

Islamabad, Aug 15: Members of both the factions of Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday staged a joint sit-in in front of UNMOGIP office here urging world body to impress upon India to resolve Kashmir dispute to ensure durable peace in the region.
The APHC conveners Mehmood Ahmed Saghar and Ghulam Muhammad Safi led the protest demonstration which was attended by representatives of the respective factions of APHC and JKLF.
Speaking on the occasion the APHC leaders stressed on the need to resolve Kashmir forthwith. “United Nations must play its much needed role to address Kashmir issue as it is the custodian of human rights, justice and equality.”
Decreeing highest body’s pathetic attitude towards Kashmir they said it was high time that the UN must shun its policy of indifference and play its role to settle the long pending dispute once and for all.
Later a memorandum addressed to UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon was presented to UN officials.
