Chib reviews arrangement for Mohun Bagan’s tour of Valley
Srinagar, Aug 24: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, R S Chib on Friday chaired a preliminary meeting to discuss the arrangements for the conduct of goodwill football matches between the Mohun Bagan Football team, Kolkatta and J&K-XI.
The event would be conducted by the J&K State Sports Council in collaboration with J&K Football Association in which two goodwill football matches between Mohun Bagan Football Club, Kolkatta and J&K-XI would be played on September 8, at Srinagar and September 11 at Jammu respectively.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that the conduct of this event is sequel to the goodwill matches played recently between Muhammedan Sporting Club, Kolkatta and J&K-XI.
He expressed happiness over the win registered by the host team over the guest team in both the matches. He said that it was due to the repeated efforts of the department to conduct such national events to give exposure and attract local budding football players of the State towards this famous game.
