CCIK for restricting yatra to 15 days
Srinagar, Aug 2: The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) has urged the Amarnath Shrine Board and state government to “restrict the yatra period to 15 days.” “We have time and again pleaded before authorities to restrict the yatra to 15 days as also the number of pilgrims visiting the shrine,” it said. “The increasing number of tourists causes stress on the ecology of the areas,” said Muhammad Afzal Parray, President, CCIK. “The chopper services should also be stopped as they have played havoc with the environment, ecological balance, flora & fauna of the area,” he said.
