Ellahi Bagh faces cooking gas shortage
SYED IMRAN ALI HAMDANI
Srinagar, Aug 2: In the ongoing holy month of Ramazan the residents of Ellahi Bagh Buchpora on the outskirts of City have complained of acute shortage of cooking gas allegedly due to its “black marketing.”
A delegation from the area told Greater Kashmir that “The gas agency operating in the area is selling cylinders meant for domestic use to commercial establishments by charging more money from them because of which we cannot get the supply properly.”
“Black marketing and misuse of LPG are increasing day-by-day in the area," alleged Babar Hamid, a consumer.
The locals alleged that “The nearest LPG dealer sells the LPG cylinders against higher prices in black market to the local shopkeepers and industrial units.”
“But we have been left high and dry,” the residents said adding “even though we remain in queue from Sehri, we aren’t able to get our genuine share.”
They appealed DDC Srinagar, Baseer Ahmed Khan and the Director CAPD to look into the matter.
