Mir propped up by agencies: Kamaal
‘He Has Always Played Dubious Role’
JAVAID MALIK
Srinagar, Aug 2: Terming Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir, a “progeny of security agencies”, firebrand Additional General Secretary of ruling National Conference Dr Mustafa Kamaal Thursday said that Mir has no political stature of his own.
Launching a scathing attack on Mir for blaming Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah for the present situation, Kamaal said; “He (Mir) has bigger political ambitions far beyond his political stature. He is fully supported by security agencies, who have all along propped him. He is talking their language.”
Reacting sharply to Mir’s remarks, Dr Kamaal told Greater Kashmir; “Many of the politicians who have been speaking against late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah should go through the history before making such assertions. People like Mir should first look within and then talk as he has played a dubious and dirty role since 1990. He is indulging in cheap politics.”
Dr Kamaal said that Mir making an oblique reference to late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah “is not in a good taste.”
“It seems Mir has forgotten that people like him are sitting in minister’s chairs due to the sacrifices rendered by the late leader,” he added.
Lashing out at Mir for terming autonomy as “impractical solution,” he said, “National Conference had always stuck to its stand. We have not been changing our party and colors like the politician who is talking against the party founder and the autonomy which we believe is the only viable solution.”
