Mirwaiz Interview
This refers to the interview with Mirwaiz Umer Farooq. It shows the concern of Mirwaiz towards economic wellbeing of the people of Kashmir. As Mirwaiz has rightly pointed out that Hartal is the last option to register protest against any act that goes against the people of Kashmir, but at the same time it is important that we move beyond Hartals. The Kashmiri pro-freedom parties despite differences on some issues need to reach out to the world but unfortunately most of the Kashmiri leaders have not been able to impress upon the world to gather international support. Just joining conferences and passing resolutions has not helped the Kashmir cause as it was expected. Also the rigid position on Kashmir by India has complicated the issue whereas Pakistan has shown flexibility. But due to internal problems in Pakistan, and India's economic might has made this issue a problem between two unequal neighbors.
