Pak Rangers hand over SI’s body to Army
Jammu, Aug 2: Pakistani Rangers today handed over body of a probationer Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir police, who had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Chenab River on July 29, to Indian army.
Sources said that after the SI jumped into the river, the divers conducted thorough search of entire Chenab river downstream of Akhnoor bridge and adjoining villages but could not find the body and it was assumed that the body was flowed to Pakistan side.
A communication was sent to Pakistani counterparts in this regard by Indian side and today morning Pakistan Rangers handed over the body at Gigrial post in Khour block, sources said.
They said that the family members of the deceased Susheel Khajuria son of K L Khajuria resident of Shiv Nagar Jammu presently posted at Bakshi Nagar police station, was called by Khour police and after identification they handed over the body to family members.
Pertinently on July, 29, the deceased had gone missing and his Santro car was found at bank of Chenab river in Thati area of Gharota. Family members had lodged a missing complaint at concerned police station in which they had maintained that the deceased had gone to duty but didn’t return back home on July 29.
