Urban Local Bodies polls in Dec: Govt
Srinagar,Aug 30: The government Thursday announced that elections to Urban Local Bodies and Block Development Councils will be held in December this year.
“Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has instructed Rural Development and Housing and Urban Development Departments to take steps necessary for the conduct of elections to Block Development Councils and Urban Local Bodies respectively by December this year,” an official handout issued here this evening said.
Pertinently, Omar had at a public meeting in Rajpora, Pulwama on August 28 announced that elections to Block Development Councils would be held this year.
