Attention motorists using black films/tinted glasses

Srinagar, Aug 3:  According to the Superintendent of Police, Traffic City, all motorists (Pvt./Govt.) are informed that as per the directions of the  Supreme Court and state Government, use of Black films/tinted glasses upon the safety glasses, wind screens (front and rear) and  side glasses has been prohibited and action warranted is operative and  enforceable with effect from May 4, 2012.
 Vigorous drive against use of black films/tinted glasses is in full swing  and any such prohibited material is being removed on spot besides fine as prescribed by MV Act is being recovered from the violators.
 Now, in the larger interest of the public safety, it is decided that beyond August 20, 2012 any vehicle (Govt./Pvt.) found with black films/tinted glasses shall be impounded as per the directions of the  High court in a public interest litigation titled Davinder Singh Jasrotia Vs state and others for contempt of Supreme court directions.
