 This refers to the unbearable heat the whole valley is reeling under.Even more unbearable is how tender kids are subjected to harsh
weather and that too for something beyond the requirements of the academics. The school kids are not given any respite by the government
but what makes the things worst is the way they are forced to participate in the events that drain them in this hot weather.My daughter, a 10 yr old student of a private school in the city was taken for a parade on Thursday to Zewan Police HQ for the unknown purpose. She was fasting and didn’t
break, but the exhausting drill in hot and humid conditions had a heavy toll on her as she almost fainted when she was back home.
There were a lot of students from different schools that were made to practice for some event there. A lot of students had to break the fast
as the young ones couldn’t face the hot conditions there. Was this the requirement that schools reopened for? Kids were given juice etc that
dilutes the importance of Ramadan fasting in the young souls. What for the drill was there? School authorities had not taken consent from the
parents for this purpose.
