SMC issues sealing orders for Toyota Motors showroom

Srinagar, Aug 3: On the House Committee of Legislative Assembly directives, the Srinagar unicipal Corporation today issued an order for closure of Toyota Motors at Bye- Pass here.
The order reads: “. . . the offender was granted permission for construction of Automobile Workshop, but in violation of the building permission, he has established a full-fledged Showroom of Toyota Automobile company and the construction is in violation of the sanctioned plan which has been continued on spot despite the order of status- quo passed by special tribune.”
The order further reads: “. . . he (the offender) has raised construction of way of shuttering over the second floor R.C.C column and completed the construction in violation of the status – quo order passed by the J&K special Tribune at Srinagar and also against the sanctioned plan.”
The order says: “. . . the violation committed by him also has come under scrutiny before the House committee of the J&K Legislative Assembly and the house committee in its meeting on 31/7/2012 has issued a direction for locking the premises of the offender. . .”
According to official sources, SMC will Saturday seal the showroom.
Pertinently, the Committee which was constituted to “ascertain the factual position regarding illegal encroachment on wetland, its (wetland) conversion for residential purposes in Srinagar, Baramulla and Bandipora districts” had asked the BOCA to seal the showroom as it “carried out in violation of set rules.”
