Altaf lays foundation of Akhal bridge
Srinagar, Aug 4: Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad, today laid foundation stone of a steel girder bridge over nallah Sindh at Akhal, Kangan.
The bridge would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.24 lakh and benefit people of six villages of the area including Akhal, Chak Akhal, Kunmulla, Paren, Ghanchi Mohalla and Tangh Chatri
Addressing a gathering of people at Akhal, the Minister said that it is endeavour of the coalition government headed by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, to provide basic amenities in every nook and corner of the State.
“During the past over three and half years the government has taken various landmark decisions to improve the basic services. The steps taken by the government have been duly acknowledged by the people on ground,” the Minister said.
With reference to the development of Kangan constituency, the Minister said that majority of roads have been upgraded, macadamized and connected with the highway to change the socio economic conditions of the people of the area.
