Prof Sofi delivers extension lecture at KU
Srinagar, Aug 4: Renowned mathematician and acting Vice- Chancellor of the Kashmir University, Prof M A Sofi delivered an extension lecture on “General Mathematics.”
The lecture was organised by the Directorate of Distance Education University of Kashmir here on Saturday.
On the occasion, Prof Sofi said that knowledge of mathematics and the application of mathematical tools and techniques help us to get non-trivial conclusions to various scientific issues and problems thereby leading to making of significant discoveries.
“It is possible to make discoveries in various disciplines of science like electronics, physics or chemistry without using mathematics , however, to make these discoveries more significant we have to implement mathematical calculations and precisions at one stage or the other,” said Prof Sofi.
