Rather announces revival of Arzan Garzan Dam
Srinagar, Aug 4: Underscoring significance of irrigation in boosting agriculture production, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today announced to revive once famous Arzan Garzan Dam.
Estimated at a cost of Rs 25 crore, the work on the Dam will be started in November this. Rather said the dam will go a long way in bringing green revolution in the drought prone areas of Chrawni, Banhar, Zagipora, Dardpora and Malpora.
Addressing a public gathering at Chrawni village in Chrar-i-Sharief constituency, Rather also assured to revive Malpora Dam adding that DPR costing above Rs 50 crore has been prepared for the purpose. This Dam will benefit farmers of Sarai, Wadipora, Hayatpora villages also by way of providing adequate irrigate water facility.
Rather also announced upgradation of Allopathic Dispensary Chrawni to Primary Health Centre level adding that work on construction of PHC building shall be started shortly.
