JKPCC has stupendous role in infrastructure dev: Omar

Srinagar, Aug 7: Highlighting the importance of timeline completion of public service infrastructure in the sustained and comprehensive development process, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) is entrusted with stupendous responsibility in this regard.
Chairing the 87th meeting of JKPCC Board of Directors here this afternoon, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the completion of 30 major bridges and building projects completed by the Corporation since April 2011.
Pinpointing the significance of bridges to bridge the economic gaps and open up far-flung and remote areas for holistic development, Omar Abdullah said that his government has flagged construction of roads and bridges as one of the most important sectors in State’s development policy.
The Chief Minister said that JKPCC is executing major works of infrastructure development in health, education and R&B sectors as such its role in public service delivery is significant. He asked the Corporation to accomplish the entrusted work with a missionary zeal and commitment.
