Nammath residents aghast at Tippers’ parking on road

Srinagar, Aug 7: Residents of Nammath Ilaahibagh are up in arms against parked tippers which block the traffic movement throughout the day.
According to locals who reside on both side of Nammath, the tipper drivers with bricks park the vehicles and sell the material on the road causing immense hardship to people with frequent traffic jams.
“We had approached deputy commissioner Srinagar who directed us to SP Hazratbal who referred us to SP Traffic. SP traffic asked us to give in writing about the problem which we did, but nothing has changed as these tippers’ parking and movement as well is taking toll on us,” said Ghulam Nabi Dar, a resident of Illahibagh Nammath.
With stationed tippers, the residents say that the area has been prone to accidents as recently an aged woman died on Nammath due to choked road conditions.
