Succumbing to pressure, JKCA treasurer resigns
Srinagar, Nov 30: In charge treasurer of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association Manzoor Wazir on Friday submitted his resignation to President JKCA Dr Farooq Abdullah, succumbing to the pressure of players from Kashmir division following row over selection.
“An unfortunate situation has cropped up over selection of J&K team for Ranji Trophy matches. I had kept a meeting of provincial committee at Jammu fort selection of captain. But no communication has come to me and instead team has left for Guwahati for playing their match against Assam,” the letter sent by Manzoor Wazir to Dr farooq Abdullah reads.
“Boys from Kashmir province have been coming to me seeking clarification regarding the captaincy of the team. Since this was an item on agenda for the provincial committee. The committee could not convince boys from Kashmir,” the letter reads further.
“I have tried my level best to defuse the situation but it seems time has come for me to quit association. I am as such resigning from the treasurer post with request to accept the same,” it stated.
