4 die, 4 injured in Doda road mishap

Doda, Dec 11: At least four persons, including a minor, were killed and four others were injured when a Xylo skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Prem Nagar on Batote-Kishtwar highway.
Police said the ill fated Tata-Xylo (JK014-9945) was on way from Chiralla to Doda today morning when it met with a mishap at around 8 AM near Prem Nagar.
“Four persons died on the spot and four others were injured critically”, police said it took more than three hours to the rescuers to evict injured and bodies out of the deep and steep gorge.
The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Kumar (36) son of Thakur Lal resident of Shilote Bijarni, Abdul Karim Malik (53) son of Gander Malik resident of Thalela, Farid Ganani son of Zareef Ganai resident of Bheja, Rajesh Kumar son of Hari Ropal resident of Udrana, Bhadwerwah.
All the injured were shifted to district hospital Doda from where two critical injured were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.
The injured shifted to GMC have been identified as Momin Khan (10) son of Muhammad Iqbal Khan resident of Green Colony Bhadwerwah and Parveen (30) son of Bansi Lal resident of Thalela.
