IED defused in Tral
Srinagar, Dec 11: Police Tuesday claimed that a major tragedy was averted as it detected and defused an Improvised Electronic Device (IED) in Tral area of south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that police detected an IED on Tral – Mandoora road.
He said that the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Awantipora police was pressed into services and they defused the IED on spot.
The spokesman added that some pedestrians found a suspicious substance that posed like an IED at a roadside at Thajiwara, Achabal in Anantnag.
He said that police sealed the area and restricted the traffic on the road. The BDS Anantnag police was called in and it later turned out to be a hoax. The traffic was later restored in the area.
