Construction material dealer irks Shamasabad
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Dec 12: The residents of Shamasabad Sector-5 have complained that a construction material dealer was operating from the colony in violation of norms and causing inconvenience to the inhabitants.
“There’s unnecessary movement of vehicles carrying construction material and the dumping of the same is a nuisance,” the residents said.
They said a huge quantity of the material remains dumped on the main road while the colony drainage has also got damaged because of the same.
Besides, the residents said, scores of tippers remain parked in the area. “All this has made our lives miserable and we’re unable to drive our own vehicles because there’s no space left,” the residents said.
The residents accused the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) of having failed to get the outlet closed.
“A number of times we took up the matter with the concerned Ward Officer and others officials in the SMC. But no action was taken for the past one-and-a-half years,” the residents said. They accused the concerned SMC staffers of being hand in glove with the dealer.
The residents have appealed the SMC Commissioner SMC Dr GN Qasba to personally look into the matter adding that the Enforcement wing of the civic body had miserably failed to take action.
