Hurriyat (M) delegation leaves for New Delhi
Srinagar, Dec 12: The seven-member Hurriyat (M) delegation headed by Chairman of the amalgam, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Wednesday left for New Delhi to begin their Pakistan visit from December 17. The move comes after seven of the eight executive members of Hurriyat (M) were granted passports to travel to Pakistan.
To a query why they left five days in advance, Mirwaiz said, “Following the weather advisory issued by Meteorological department that Kashmir may witness heavy to moderate snowfall on December 13 and December 14, we decided to leave early.”
“Seven members of the executive council have been issued passports,” Mirwaiz said. The delegation besides Mirwaiz includes Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Moulana Abbas Ansari, Aga Syed Al-Hassan, Musadiq Adil and Mukhtar Ahmed Waza.
Waza was given passport at the last minute.
Pertinently, another Hurriyat (M) executive member Shabir Ahmed Shah has applied for travel to Pakistan through LoC. However, his documents have not been cleared so far.
