Cabinet to meet today

Jammu, Dec 16: Jammu and Kashmir government is expected to take some important decision in the cabinet meeting, scheduled to be held here on Monday.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah would chair the cabinet meeting in the civil secretariat on Monday morning, sources said.
They said though not on agenda, the cabinet is expected to announce some reshuffle in the police department, especially in view of the recent Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting, which has cleared more than a dozen senior police officers for promotions.
The cabinet is also likely to discuss the proposal of health department for creation of around 320 posts of dental assistants for various health institutions across the state. “The department has proposed creation of the posts in phased manner and if approved around 250 posts would be created in the first go”, sources added.
The meeting may also approve implementation of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), a poverty eradication programme of Union Ministry of Rural Development, in the state, they said.
