Don't preach
This refers to the column Words Within by Firdous Syed. This in-house Saturday preacher can't stop preaching. He has a past which raises questions against all his preaching. And I am sure he has a present too. There is a limit to sermons that one can take. He strikes this moralistic posture and yet the stark reality is that he has no locus standi. He was once a militant, then surrendered into the arms of the Indian state, who then groomed him, made him an MLC. He still takes his MLC pension every month. Now he wants to project his `good-boy' image. And he has been given space in your revered newspaper to sling mud at those leaders who have rendered sacrifices for the struggle. I hope he remembers what we were taught in school, "practice what you preach".
