KVK Ganderbal SKUAST-K concludes training
Srinagar, Dec 16: Awareness cum series of trainings’ on “Scientific prunning of fruit trees” under School Of Orchard Management was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ganderbal , SKUAST-K in collaboration with Department Of Horticulture, a spokesman of the SKUASt-K said.
He said the programme concluded with practical demonstration of scientific prunning techniques of different fruit crops on farmers’ orchard stretching over hundreds’ Kanals at Zazun Wakura .
The spokesman said a joint team comprising KVK scientists (horticulture, agronomy and animal sciences) and officers of horticulture department headed by chief horticulture officer Ganderbal, imparted awareness on relevance of prunning to flowering and bearing habit of the fruit crops and its role in the cultural management of diseases by improving aeration and light penetration through tree canopy and conducted field demonstrations on the farmers orchard.
