ICCR organises Sufiana Mehfil

Srinagar, Dec 17: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has felicitated the ‘Saznawaz tradition’ of Kashmiri Sufiana music at an function at its Regional office here.
 The function organized by the Kashmir Chapter of ICCR was attended by a large gathering of Sufiana music lovers and musicians. The Council also felicitated the grand master of Sufiana Music, Ghulam Muhammad Saznawaz who however could not attend the function due to indisposition.
 On the occasion, the Regional Director ICCR, Dr Ayaz Nazki informed the audience about a string of events being organized during winter months. The recently appointed Deputy Director General Radio Kashmir Bashir Arif offered the Center to provide broadcasting support in enhancing the cultural life of the region.
 The prominent among those who attended were Farooq Nazki, Dr Aziz Hajini, Salim Beg, Prof MI Nazki, Prof Shad Ramzan, Prof Majruh Rashid, Prof Rattan Talashi, Irfan Yasin, Sardar Arvinder Singh Amn, Waheed Jeelani, Muneer Mir and others. Abid Ahmad of Cultural Academy presented a vote of thanks.
