Bagh-e-Hyder Baghat inhabitants decry inflated power bills
Srinagar, Dec 18: Inhabitants of Bagh-e-Hyder Baghat Sanat Nagar are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for sending them inflated power bills.
A delegation from the area said that from past few months they have been receiving inflated power bills. “This is sheer cheating as inflated power bills have been sent even for those houses whose inmates at out of station. We apprised the concerned PDD officials about the matter but they did not take action to send revised bills,” they said. They accused the PDD of sending inflated bills to achieve their monthly target.
“Many shopping complexes and restaurants in our areas have been given meter less connections in lieu of hefty amount. To cover up this illegal practice, the concerned PDD officials have sent inflated bills to us. We urge the Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter,” the residents said.
