Electric pole gutted in Dalgate

Srinagar, Dec 18: A wooden electric pole was gutted in a fire incident in Dalgate market here on Tuesday evening.
Reports said fire started in the wooden pole near the Chest Diseases hospital and engulfed it triggering panic in the area. The wooden pole carrying low-tension transmission lines is situated in a congested lane with many residential houses around it. Locals besides personnel of Fire Services department rushed to the spot and doused the fire. However no injuries were reported in the incident.
The residents said despite repeated requests the concerned PDD officials have failed to replace the wooden poles and worn out transmission lines.
