Srinagar, Dec 1: Making it clear that Hurriyat (M) was not afraid of talks, senior Hurriyat (M) leader Prof Abdul Gani Bhat Saturday said there was “no question of entering into a sell out as the amalgam will find out a way out for the respectable solution of Kashmir issue.”
Addressing the civil society members from Islamabad (Anantnag), Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam at party headquarters here, Bhat said the Hurriyat “will never choose sell out”. “There is no question of sell-out. We will seek a way-out for respectable resolution of Kashmir issue. Sell out is impossible. We can’t sell the blood of martyrs and chastity of our daughters and mothers,” the Hurriyat (M) leader said.
He said it was the Hurriyat (M) that made India and Pakistan accept that “Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris and participation of Hurriyat leaders was a must for Kashmir solution.” “It was the Hurriyat that talked to the then Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Pakistan President Parvez Musharraf and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh,” he said.
Bhat said it was the United States of America that brought India and Pakistan closer. “US first directed India and Pakistan to start trade so that two countries come close. They (US) knew that whenever two countries talk Kashmir, they fight. So let there be a friendship through trade first,” he said.
The senior Hurriyat leader said Hurriyat will never be afraid of talking Kashmir. “Even if our Pakistan visit brings nothing, but people across the globe will discuss that Hurriyat delegation discussed Kashmir,” Bhat said.  “We have already made it clear to New Delhi that Kashmiris are weak and can’t fight with India but won’t accept defeat. We have told Indian leadership that Kashmiris have never accepted defeat.”
He said the Hurriyat delegation will not only meet Pakistan leaders who are in power, but those who in the opposition as well. “World community is in favour of settlement of disputes so that peace prevails at the international level. So it is imperative for India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir so that peace prevails in South Asia,” he said. Without naming the Hurriyat (G) leader, Bhat said Hurriyat (M) headquarters continues to remain the same and its chairman too is same. “There were some changes in between. But Mirwaiz was the first chairman of the amalgam and continues to remain so. Our policies are same but we have to keep changing with the global realities while framing our policies,” he said. “We can’t frame good policies without keeping in view the geo-political scenario.”
The other Hurriyat (M) leaders who were present in the feedback session include Zafar Akbar Bhat, Masroor Abbas, Musadiq Adil, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and Yasmeen Raja.
