Big success: CM
Sheeri (Baramulla), Dec 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Wednesday termed the killing of six Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in Sopore as a “big success for security agencies”, saying that if infiltration from across the border stops there would not be such gunfights.
Taking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, the Chief Minister said: “If there is an end to infiltration from across the border, then there would not be gunfights. When there is no causality of security forces in an encounter, it is taken as a successful operation. As per the information given to me, five militants have so far been killed in Sopore encounter and two are trapped.”
Replying to a question on the number militants who have ‘infiltrated’ this year, Omar said he cannot share the exact details as “there is disparity in the numbers furnished by various security formations.”
