JKCA’s Double Act
Includes ‘messy’ players in Ranji Trophy team
Srinagar, Dec 21: In a shocking move, the J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) on Thursday included those players in Ranji Trophy team against whom it had earlier registered First Information Reports.
The JKCA on Thursday announced the list of players for Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh scheduled to be played at GGM Science College Jammu on Saturday. The list includes two players Samiullah Beigh and Majid Dar who were named in the FIR report filed by JKCA against alleged locking of SK Cricket Stadium and allegedly harassing families of JKCA Officials on November 30. Even one of the accused named in the FIR is current selector and he was involved in selecting the team.
“It is irony to see that same players have been included in the team against whom FIR is registered by JKCA. The more ironical is that selection committee included the same selector whose name is mentioned among accused in the complaint,” sources said.
