Doda, Dec 22: Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather today inaugurated a government treasury at Kahara, a remote area in this district.
 Pertinently, within a week, government opened several treasuries at some remote places including one each at Assar (Doda), Manjakote (Rajouri) and Ramsoo (Ramban). “These treasuries were opened with a view to provide better service to the people in far-flung and inaccessible areas vis-à-vis clearance of pension claims and bills,” the FM said.
 The inauguration of another treasury at the far-flung area of Warwan in Doda could not be done due to recent heavy snowfall there.
 After inauguration the treasury, Rather while addressing a large public gathering at Kahara, said that speedy development of bad pockets and underdeveloped areas of the state was the first priority of the coalition government adding that for the first time in the history of J&K, Special funds have been earmarked in the Annual Budget for the development of the bad pockets which shall be over and above the normal funds.
