HCBA condemns ‘excesses’ on jail inmates
Srinagar, Dec 22: The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) on Saturday condemned the alleged ill-treatment being meted out to the under-trial prisoners in District Jail, Baramulla, by its officials.
Bar, at a meeting today, also condemned the destruction of movable and immovable property by the forces at Saidapora, Sopore, extending its support to the families who suffered because of the encounter.
“A team of the Bar Association will be meeting the affected families very soon,” said a spokesman of the Bar in a statement today.
The meeting condemned the alleged ‘un-parliamentary language’ used by the Superintendent of Police, Sopore, against Atir-bin-Yousuf.
