Chek Dara Harwan residents await relief
Srinagar, Dec 23: Residents of Chek Dara Harwan have urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene in grant of relief which the state government promised the affected families months back.
According to residents, the administration has not provided the relief amount which it promised long back and this was despite the on spot assessment by Tehsildar Srinagar.
Some of the victims who have not received the amount are a widow Begum Jan, Abdul Gani Tancha and Gul Muhammad of Chek Dara Harwan where the damage was most severe.
“Our houses were damaged when windstorm hit the area but the government has failed to provide the promised relief for repair,” said Begum Jan.
